On the fateful morning of 6 June 1944, this peaceful estate would become the scene of fierce combat, marking a crucial juncture in the Allied efforts to liberate France from Nazi control. The dawn of D-Day heralded Operation Overlord, a massive assault aimed at breaking the stranglehold of German forces in Western Europe, and Brécourt Manor was one of the key objectives that lay in the path of American troops landing at Utah Beach.
